I started as a kid with a dream and a mic in my hand.

Music took me places I never imagined. From Hilo to outer islands to international stages, I built my name as the frontman of The Steppas. Reggae wasn’t just music to me — it was survival. It was therapy. It was how I processed growing up, mistakes, fatherhood, pressure, trying to be a better man than yesterday.

I chased the stage hard. Flights. Late nights. Promotions. Shows. Building something from nothing. I learned branding. I learned hustle. I learned how to carry a vision when nobody else sees it yet.

But somewhere along the way I realized something.

Impact hits different when it’s at home.

When I stepped into coaching, it wasn’t planned. It wasn’t some perfectly mapped-out transition. It was just a feeling that our girls deserved a shot. That our kids deserved structure. That Hawaiʻi Island deserved opportunity without having to leave home to find it.

So I went from holding a microphone…
to holding a whistle.

From stage lights…
to field lights.

And I poured that same energy I gave to music into building something for the next generation.

Homestead Warriors started as “let’s just get the girls on the field.” That was it. No big master plan. Just heart. Just belief. Just showing up.

Now it’s turning into Homestead Athletics — camps, development, exposure, travel teams, culture. A movement built on identity and pride.

I’m not perfect. I’m still learning. Still growing. Still balancing music, family, leadership. But everything I’ve built — from reggae stages to football sidelines — comes from the same place:

Love for my family.
Love for my community.
And the refusal to let our youth settle for less.

This isn’t a career change.

It’s purpose evolving.
